Summer Workday Teams

Workday hosts Summer Teams during the months of June & July at both our campuses in University City and South City. Teams come from all across the country to…

  • tutor children in a summer school program
  • work on the homes of widows, immigrants, refugees and the poor
  • serve children in the community through ‘backyard kids clubs’
  • learn what the Bible has to say about injustice and poverty
  • experience the life of a Christian community that is actively pursuing racial reconciliation and justice on behalf of the poor

Our mission and goal is that those who participate in Summer Teams (both volunteers and those being served) will experience the reconciling love of God in Jesus Christ through…

  • reconciled relationships with one another, across all racial, social and economic lines
  • multi-cultural, redeemed worship where the delight of God in us and our delight in Him is expressed
  • Christian community development where love, solidarity and a commitment to take care of all basic human needs is practiced
  • an equipping of God’s people to take part in extending God’s justice and mercy to the nations, both in St. Louis and throughout the world

Vision Statement

Workday Summer Teams exist to seek the establishment of God’s kingdom rule in the hearts of every ethnic group by discipling the nations in the reconciling gospel of Jesus Christ through a clear proclamation of salvation by grace through faith in Christ alone and by doing Spirit-led deeds of justice and mercy.
