“God defends the cause of the fatherless and the widow. He loves the immigrant, giving him food and clothing.” Deuteronomy 10:18

Our Vision and Purpose

Workday longs to see widows, the fatherless, immigrants and refugees have a safe home where they can share Christ’s love with their neighbors. Workday equips, encourages and engages volunteers in Spirit-led deeds of justice and mercy. We work with volunteers from churches, colleges, and businesses to provide basic home repairs and rich relationships. We believe people from different racial, ethnic, geographic and socioeconomic backgrounds benefit from walking together. Therefore, our ministry seeks to bridge the gaps that divide us. God’s Spirit invites us into the broken hurting places of our city, so we all experience the healing, reconciling, transformative power of Jesus Christ’s love.

Providing Home Repairs and Modifications

We seek to spread God’s love and hope in impoverished communities by meeting basic, physical needs and providing a safe home environment for the elderly and disabled – all in Jesus’ name. We do so by providing basic home repairs and maintenance, accessibility solutions like wheelchair ramps and lifts, and bathroom and kitchen rehabilitation. At the same time, we seek to engage our volunteers with widows, the elderly, the poor, and the disabled. We believe that it is in walking with them that we encounter God’s power and grace.
