Where the Spirit of the Lord is there is freedom. -2 Corinthians 3:17

Overview

The Freedom School seeks to help students reach their unique potential as restored image bearers of God who steward His creation and proclaim His kingdom righteousness through practical needs of justice and mercy to those in their school, their community, and their world. The Freedom School walks alongside children in various at-risk situations so that they can be reconciled to God, to each other, and to their community. The Freedom School is committed to diversity, focused on reconciliation, and offers sliding scale tuition, making quality, Christian education accessible to those who need it most.

The Freedom School is a place where children in the City of St. Louis can come to be reconciled to God as our committed staff introduce them to the person and work of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. They discover His Word is the basis for all truth, and they are taught to rejoice in the manifold expressions of His truth in all of creation. They also learn to be reconciled to self by knowing they are made in the image of God for His purpose; and God doesn’t make mistakes. Finally, they are guided into reconciliation with others. Embracing differences, encouraging one another and living in Christian community are core lessons. Through these stages of growth, they become reconcilers themselves…Kingdom builders and ambassadors for Jesus Christ.

Vision

The Freedom School welcomes children from all walks of life and frees their minds, hearts, and hands from the bonds of sin to serve one another and the oppressed around the world.

Mission

The Freedom School provides a safe, nurturing, learning community where children of different beliefs, races, ethnicities, and economic circumstances are reconciled to God and to one another by experiencing forgiveness by grace through faith in Jesus Christ.

They are equipped by our knowledgeable and caring staff, using a research based curricula and restorative therapies. Our goal is to see each child reach their unique potential as restored image-bearers and servant-leaders of God who steward his creation and proclaim his kingdom of righteousness through practical deeds of justice and mercy to those in their school, local community and around the world.

Our Vision and Mission are derived from our Core Values, which we call all Board members, faculty, staff, parents, and students to embrace.
